In Genesis 22 Abraham calls the place
of the substitutionary sacrifice
“The Lord Provides” (or “will provide”).
This event foreshadows the work of Christ.
And Later on, Calvary can also certainly be called the place of the Lords provision for all humanity – through Jesus- the ultimate
substitutionary sacrifice. It cannot be right to
preach about the cross – that for millions –
the Lord has NOT in fact provided at all!
“The Lord Provides”. Full stop.
Provision is the nature of the Cross,
not a withholding of provision or non provision.
