A Ransom for ALL

Although some theologians would try to have you believe it, be assured from Gods word, that there isn’t a single person God looks at and thinks “I have no desire to save that one! That one can perish. That one I just don’t love and have decided I will not ever save no matter what. In fact I desire they hear the gospel offered (a good news that’s not actually available to them and which they cannot hear!!!) but I do not really want them to repent and come to me for life.”

There isn’t a single person God doesn’t love and desire to be saved. There is not a single person who cannot be saved by the blood of Jesus shed on the cross.

God doesn’t command and invite and plead with people to come to Him and all the while, secretly, He has made certain and sure they cannot come and respond because He never ever really wanted them to come and be saved anyway.

Think this through. What does this type of theological thinking and teaching actually do to the character of God? His love, His justice, His integrity, His grace? I will tell you what this type of teaching does to Gods character. It makes him dishonest, disingenuous, two faced and limits his love and grace.

To offer something (good news) that is not really there for dying men and women, because God himself has made certain that it is not available to them is a very sad and unbiblical thing to say about Him. Especially when scripture bends over backwards to ensure we understand that God is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance and that he commands all men everywhere to repent, and that he so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that Whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.

God will not damn people for not doing what they could not do and for what he rendered certain they could not do. He is a Holy God of absolute justice, righteousness and shows no partiality after all. And God is love too.

“This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour, who desires ALL men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and MEN, the man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself as a ransom for ALL, the testimony given at the proper time.”
